About the Project

East Coastahs is a design studio based near Boston that specializes in making handmade stagecraft commissioned by advertising agencies, for what’s commonly referred to as “pitch theater.” Owner Jim Ricciardi is a veteran of the advertising business in Boston where he’s worked on client pitches for Audi, KFC, Samsung, Goodyear, Bully Boy Distillers and other large brands. Jim wanted to create a video profiling his unique craftsmanship, which brings together a variety of skills including graphic design, illustration, woodwork and painting. In fall 2021, Media Harmonics created this piece, which tracks Jim’s creative process – beginning to end, from the sourcing of wood, to the creative concepting, all the way to the final coat of paint laid onto his custom hand-crafted set pieces, signs, and souvenirs.
